What could be more romantic than two cute puppies slurping the same spaghetti noodle till their noses meet? Despite their differences, Tramp, who comes from a dog-eat-dog world, and Lady, who is used to being pampered by her family (until a kid comes along), can’t help but adore each other.
3. Shrek (2001)
Despite a rocky start for Shrek and Fiona, the ogre and princess aren’t so unlike after all. Shrek sets out on a journey to bring Princess Fiona to Lord Farquaad in exchange for the grouchy king removing his fairy tale pals from Shrek’s swamp (with the help of his “noble steed” Donkey).
4. Princess Bride (1987)
Kingdom Florin’s nefarious schemes are no match for a separated couple determined to reunite. The 14th of February is the best day to see one of the most beloved fairy tales come to life.
5. Ever After (1998)
Danielle has a difficult life. She’s forced to fend for herself after her father’s death, avoiding her stepmother’s and stepsisters’ abuse. When the oh-so-charming Prince Henry appears in this Cinderella adaptation, she has the final laugh.
6. Princess Diaries (2001)
When Mia’s estranged grandmother arrives to inform her that she is a princess, she is taken aback. Mia learns what it takes to be a royal in Genovia in the Meg Cabot bestseller turned Silver Pictures adolescent blockbuster. She knows a thing or two about her Prince Charming and happily ever after along the road.
7. The Fault in Our Stars (2014)
The massive YA triumph of John Green is an emotional roller coaster that spans all media—print and movies. Hazel and Gus’ romance has kids swooning, sobbing, and everything in between in every scene (and chapter). Curiosity piques when the two young cancer sufferers meet at a support group, and before long, they’re inseparable.
8. The Addams Family (1991)
Forget about the gruesome scenes in which Pugsley and Wednesday attempt to self-immolate. Forget about Uncle Fester’s enigmatic past. Even the renowned finger-snapping motif is a thing of the past.
Because beneath all the charming mayhem, The Addams Family is just a sweet love story between Gomez and his mysterious enchantress of a wife, Morticia. Of course, the dark laughter would delight children, but who wouldn’t adore that love story?
9. My Girl (1991)
The students at school enjoy teasing Vada. The tween is not only best friends with a boy, but her father also owns a funeral home, so she’s an obvious target for bullies. Things become more problematic when the 11-year-old develops a crush on her English teacher.
10. The Little Rascals (1994)
Spanky and the He-Man-Woman-Haters Club intend to win at the soapbox car rally. When the fellas, notably Spanky, are distracted by their pal Alfalfa and his developing affair with Darla, tensions rise.

Every fan of Jane Austen’s famed novel has a favourite adaptation, but ours has to be the 2005 film, in which Matthew Macfadyen’s Mr Darcy steps across a dappled field to tell Keira Knightley’s Elizabeth Bennet, “You have charmed me body and soul.”
7. Love, Simon
Nick Robinson plays a gay boy grappling with coming out to his family and peers in this coming-of-age story based on Becky Albertalli’s renowned YA novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda.
8. The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society
Lily James portrays a writer who travels to the island of Guernsey to report on a story after WWII and develops an unexpected bond with the locals.
9. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

Open a box of Valentine’s chocolates and enjoy this lovely romance about a free-spirited, nomadic chocolatier (Juliette Binoche) who, during Lent, transforms a peaceful French village by opening a sweets shop full of temptations.
4. About Time
Tim Lake (Domhnall Gleeson) is told he can travel back to when he was just 21 years old, but the secret power proves to be more than a simple “reset” on past sins. When Lake falls for Mary (Rachel McAdams), he quickly discovers that a little time travel won’t be enough to solve everything.

How do you catch your boss’s attention? Conspire behind the scenes with another disgruntled coworker (who is in the same boat as you) to help both bosses find love. We believe in each other.
8. As Good as It Gets
Love isn’t always straightforward. Such is the case for grumpy author Melvin Udall (Jack Nicholson, who won an Academy Award for his performance), whose orderly life is thrown into disarray by a budding romance with his favourite waitress (Helen Hunt, who also won an Oscar for her performance) and an unwilling friendship with his injured neighbour (Greg Kinnear), both of whom force him to reconsider his priorities.
9. The Lovebirds
This action-adventure comedy stars Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani, and it begins when the struggling couple becomes involved in a murder. The remainder of the night was spent trying to save their innocence—and their romance.

When straight-A student Ellie is hired to write love letters to the girl he likes, Aster, who needs help winning over a popular girl, she forms an odd connection with well-intentioned but inarticulate jock Paul.
4. Date Night
In this funny, action-packed romantic comedy, Tina Fey and Steve Carell play a married couple whose date night spirals out of hand. If you’ve been coupled up for a while, you’ll definitely be able to relate to the first 15 minutes of the movie.
5. The Princess Bride

Finch (played by Justice Smith) and Violet (played by Elle Fanning) fall in love after meeting in the middle of a busy small-town high school. Their past traumas cause them to form a friendship, and they aim to heal each other as their lives progress.
